Monday, October 22, 2007 Me and Jason, Call the Grammar Police

I often correct my kids when they say, "Me and so-and-so went to the movies." Or "Me and so-and-so did this and that". I always say, "Oh, so-and-so is mean?" This really irritates them, but over time they have learned to put themselves last and will correct what they are saying.

Today, though, my seven year old daughter said, "Me and Jason got in trouble." I quickly corrected her and said, "Jason and I, and what kind of trouble did you get into?" She looked at me and said, "No mom, he really is mean, so this time I meant to say "Mean Jason got in trouble." Hey grammar police, betcha didn't see that one coming, huh? Me neither.

I sure am! Addicted to writing doesn't seem like such a bad thing to me. :)

Never take anonymous comments seriously. If the jackass can't put his name/profile down, then he's not worth publishing.

You may be addicted...but it appears he/she is just a dick. Maybe his name is Ted, in which he would literally be, A Dick Ted.

...unless his name actually is, "Anon Ymous" - which is entirely possible since most everything else in the world is being farmed out to India.

..but I digress.

I can think of worse addictions!
This post is hilarious, Cindy! It reminds me of my own kids, as your writing so often does. I started correcting my daughter (who's 16 now)--whenever she said, "Me and Sophia, or Me and Jake" I'd add the words, "And I..."
Now, when telling me a story, she just says, "So, anyway, me and Sophia and I... were at the mall and... "
Kids, gotta love em!
